Community Center Sound Quality Upgraded

The City-owned Community Center has taken another step toward improving the experience of residents who rely on the facility for gatherings, meetings, and community events. This week, Director Tim Brunner completed the installation of new acoustic tiles in the main meeting room, a project aimed at significantly enhancing sound control and overall comfort.

The upgrade addresses a long‑standing challenge in the center: echoes and background noise that made it difficult for groups to hear speakers, conduct discussions, or enjoy programs without distraction. With the new acoustic tiles in place, visitors can expect clearer sound, reduced reverberation, and  a more pleasant environment for a wide range of activities.

Mayor Douglas Foster noted that “the improved sound quality will benefit everyone who uses the room, including civic groups, families hosting celebrations, local organizations, and congregations that hold church services at the facility”. The Community Center has become a hub for public life, and the enhancement ensures it continues to meet the needs of a growing and active community.

The project was completed without interruption to scheduled events, and staff report that early feedback from visitors has already been positive.
