City Streets Readied for School

With the return to school fast approaching, Street Superintendent – Curt Shields is hard at work to get the crosswalks freshened up for safety. 

Mayor Douglas L. Foster said, “I appreciate the Street staff’s efforts in brightening the painted crosswalks. It’s a small step the City can take to help prevent an accident.”

The primary purpose of a crosswalk is to provide a designated and safe area for pedestrians to cross roadways, ensuring they have the right-of-way over vehicles in certain situations. Crosswalks help organize pedestrian traffic and reduce the risk of accidents. 

Police Chief / Resource Officer – Jonathan Mullock stated, “safety is a top priority for the City and the school. We’re looking forward to a great school year.”
